Built in the late 1700’s, the building that houses LB Printery, a
division of Legal Blank Printery, has quite a history. In 1915, William
("Bill") Ingraham came to Laceyville from Scranton, Pennsylvania, and
established a shop for the printing of legal forms and documents. He
leased the building on the corner of South Church and Canal Streets
owned at that time by John Donovan, the same building where the defunct
weekly "Laceyville Messenger" was printed.
Mr. Ingraham developed a thriving business, later employing Charles
Craige as an assistant. At the owner's death in 1928, Mrs. Ingraham
continued the business until 1944 when she sold it to Mr. Craige. The
latter retired in January 1970, due to ill health and Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth Jayne purchased the printery at that time. They ran the business
successfully until they retired and sold the business to Ken Patton,
current owner of Legal Blank Printery.
The business continues to print legal forms and various commercial
printing for small- to mid-sized businesses or individuals, printing
multiple color (one to multiple PMS colors) and full-color solutions.
Maintained solely by Ken Patton, Legal Blank Printery is located on
the original premises utilizing both the first and second floors for the
printing business. Legal Blank Printery continues to grow with its
trademark found on legal forms in law offices and small- to mid-sized
business invoices throughout the country.
